To Gun or not to Gun

So I've been in Taiwan all summer and boy the dating scene is hot.

Been on dates with hotties such as Linda and Barbara and I've also hung out with dudes like James Fick and JR Levick.  Boy oh boy.  Can't wait until school starts!! (medschool jokes - all these people are authors of text books we used).

Anyways So I've worked with the neurology department this summer.  It was pretty fun.  Saw some interesting cases such as  Brown Sequard Syndrome, lots of PD, AD, and also various strokes.  Pretty fun.

Next week, I'll be working with the cardiology department.  Right after I finish up Levick.

Alright, back to work.

Peace.

Gesell's Progression

There's a natural progression to the development of life.   For example:

1yo - use single word and walk
2yo - run and parallel play and speak ~270 words
3yo - draw circles
4yo - draw crosses
5yo - draw squares
6yo - draw triangles...etc

Well, there is also Piaget's model of cognitive theory in which people develop different cognitive skills at various age such as being learn to feel and move their arms and eventually progressing to egocentric self thinking then to concrete operations (logical thinking) and finally to abstract thinking.

The thing I learned in my first year in medschool is that our education system also has it's own specific progression which is listed as the following:

Fred's Cognitive Theory

Elementary School --> Middle School --> High School --> College ----
                                                                 ^                           |
                                                                 |_________________|
                                                                 Then back to high school

This regression of going back to high school is also known going to Medical School.

Here are just some of the similarities off the top of my head:
1.  We use lockers
2.  We have different "periods" where we go to different classes
3.  We have 1 hr lunch break in between
4.  Classes end around 2:00pm
5.  None stop conversations ie.  "did you know that bobby, told sarah, to jill, to tell me, to tell you, that..." and gossip going on.

I'll add more onto this list as time goes on.

Hello, I'm back

I read some of the stuff I wrote earlier in 2003 and I figured, it's time to revive my xanga.
